Sunday Times bestseller who keeps you guessing with every page --This text refers to the paperback edition. High in the Welsh mountains, seven reality show contestants have a secret they are desperate to keep but 'Exposure' is the name of the game. Je maakt ook steeds sprongen in de tijd, dus je moet bij elk hoofdstuk goed kijken om welke dag het gaat én vanuit welk personage je leest. Deeply rooted in the glorious Welsh countryside, Ffion is the sparky bilingual cop you didn't know you needed and now she's investigating a death in a reality game show, but is it a game or a trap?

Instead of a survival show, they have inadvertently signed up for a exposure show, where you have to win to not having your secrets exposed. Thank you NetGalley and (publisher, Little Brown Book Group) for sending this book for review consideration. Tightly plotted and meticulously paced, packed with suspects, twists and turns , A Game of Lies is Clare Mackintosh at her best . A propulsive and topical thriller set against the beautiful backdrop of the Welsh mountains - fearless, fiery and funny DC Ffion Morgan is fast becoming my new favourite cop -- T. A Game of Lies by Clare MacKintosh proves to be a captivating sequel that effortlessly picks up where its predecessor left off.

Detective Ffion Morgan is a breath of fresh air - clever, witty and passionate about her job and a joy to spend time with!

The story begins roughly 18 months on from the first book and we soon learn that Ffion has not really changed! Their unresolved feelings lead them to act like stubborn, immature children who make false assumptions about each other, while George is caught in the middle of their hot-cold war.In the game of lies the main plot is centered on a reality show where the contestants applied under false pretenses. I also found the storyline if the relationship between Ffion and Leo rather tiring and trying, and I swiped right through pages and passages after the fifty percent mark to reach the ending quickly. It was interesting to see who all made up the show and the show was focused on a secret they each wanted to protect, some of them were a little silly in my opinion, but they were important to the characters and that was what mattered. We have an ex boyfriend of Morgan's, her ex husband and some tenous relationships playing out, all the while during the investigation and that is before a murderer strikes.

Reality tv show “Exposure “ has seven contestants who have to spend 14 nights on Pen y Ddraig Mountain in Wales, has the usual set of challenges and a public vote. But Ffion finds herself involved in the competition because her sister/daughter Seren is dating a young production assistant, Caleb. If another player can guess the truth, they won't just be eliminated - they will be exposed live on air. I'm the author of I Let You Go, I See You, Let Me Lie and Hostage - page-turning thrillers that have sold more than two million copies across 40 countries, and hit bestseller lists including The Sunday Times and The New York Times. This is the second book featuring Detective Ffion Morgan as this picks up from book I would recommend reading book 1 first you won’t be disappointed. It's a book to offer hope when you feel as though there's none to be had; a book to give to a friend when you don't know what to say.

MacKintosh weet goede verhalen uit te brengen en ook met Het leugenspel heeft ze weer een goed verhaal op de markt gebracht, hoewel ik het 1e deel denk ik toch nog net wat beter vond. I also wrote the emotional rollercoaster, After the End: a family drama about an impossible choice that threatens to tear a couple apart. I had the same issue with A Game of Lies that I had with the first book in the series - the book felt too long.I think the soured relationship between the two is actually the entire reason that I didn't like this one as much as its predecessor. Everyone has a secret in this game show set in the Welsh mountains but who would kill to keep their secret. Het leugenspel' is zeker wel leuk om gelezen te hebben, maar ik vind de losstaande verhalen van Clare Mackintosh toch wat beter dan deze serie. Suspects abound – Miles has not just alienated all the contestants but also his presenter, who feels her nascent television reputation will be compromised by association with such a cruel show, his other staff, whom her has regularly humiliated, and local traders whom he has been tardy to pay.
