I’m almost don’t want to say that Greta is not like other girls, bc that notion has such a negative ring to it, but Greta stands out among CR’s heroines. Greta Falcone-(ages in the book flashback to 12, present time 18 almost 19-maybe 23/24) She is the daughter of the Capo of the Camorra, Remo Falcone. I was also incredibly disappointed at Amo's lack of maturity in the beginning, especially after he had already met Greta and knew he wanted her, he just hoped she didn't see the papers. He took Cressida virginity when they where teens and has to marry her after meeting Greta he doesn’t do anything with her but a year later after they get married he has sex with her out of anger but it’s clear they both enjoy it. The love he feels for her (and that she feels for him) is pure and beautiful, just like the connection they have.

Reading By Fate I Conquer was such an experience and an honor, and definitely an emotional ride with so many parts that left me with all kinds of feelings—heartbroken, happy, sad, worried and more—that I want to repeat even though I’d just finished it. I didn’t like when Greta was taking a bubble bath and Nevio was having a conversation with her though. On top of that, Amo is already bound to marry Cressida, whom he had sex with and took her virginity because she insulted his Marcella. But don't stop reading and have your own conclusion of the story and love this beautiful couple that is Amo and Greta. Also, there were moments that had a lot of information at the same time and I think that the story in that respect should have gone more slowly, but also, there were some things that deserved more attention and didn't. The more subjective part comes down to the fact that the nice choir boy vibe oozing out of Amo is certainly not the vibe I seek for in a mafia romance. Only Amo could calm the chaos in Greta's head, and only Greta could bring a genuine smile to Amo's face that overshadowed the gloom of his role in the mafia. He found his one true love and his only option is to be disloyal and a pig to get out of his engagement?

When are you going to kidnap a poor woman as your wife of your own as is family tradition and the only way a woman will ever tolerate your crazy ass? As with all of Cora's books this one paves the way to the future and we have hooks for Nevio and Aurora who is a sweet girl and Maximus and her love interest who will come as a surprise to some and not so much to others, I can't wait to read the story of these couples soon.Their affair definitely keeps one on edge thinking they’ll get caught anytime and when they finally do more tragic events happen which finally lead them to marriage. Shouldn't they loathe and despise the kind of power that their heroines hold over them at first to sweeten the ultimate descent into obsessive oblivion? After how the last 5-6 Cora books have been a complete disaster, I might have gotten carried away with my rating a bit after just finishing the book. It has it all… war between two families, gun fights, knight fights, near deaths, people jumping of bridges, sex, family drama, betrayal.

Additionally, both of the male halves of these couples are the head honcho "Capo" of their respective mafia group. I don’t like that Amo/Greta did do oral sex and hand jobs with each other while he was still married. She's a little star and her and Greta deliver that mom-daughter duo dynamic I have been missing in the past releases. She was nice and kind, with a personality that had a mix of Nino's observant nature and Kiara's gentleness. I loved seeing her relationship with her kids, especially Greta—I loved their mom-daughter moments and dynamic, and how she’d do and even sacrifice everything just to see her daughter as happy as she deserves to be. She doesn’t want him to give up capo for her, doesn’t want war or death, doesn’t think cut out be capos wife /center of attention, doesn’t want to leave her family etc….
