Well, part of the reason was that I really did not like Fenoglio, I didn't mind him in Inkheart but he became unbearably arrogant and kind of creepy in this book. With Capricorn out of the way, Cornelia Funke was in need of a new villain for this second instalment, and it almost seems like the Adderhead came as a second thought. Meggie agrees but only if she can tag along for the ride, after all she’s been dying to see the world her mother lived in for so long.
