You can't get away from it, but we are looking at a cheap keyboard set, here, and you get what you pay for. The Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 800 is a keyboard designed for users who prefer the convenience and freedom of a wireless setup. It has a calculator button which is quite useful, plus volume control and play/pause both of which I keep forgetting about!

This is a keyboard why anyone would want to be 15 feet from the screen I have no idea as this most certainly is not a multimedia keyboard which surely you would seek to use for desktop surfing when used with a computer connected say to your large screen television. For establishing a wireless connection, this keyboard utilizes a USB transceiver that operates on the 2. The keyboard works wirelessly within 15 feet of your computer and features a Windows Start Button as well as easy access hot keys. Quickly access frequently used tools, like the calculator and audio controls by using shortcut keys. I just plugged in the very small USB wireless adapter and let my pc (running windows xp service pack 3) find it.The Microsoft Keyboard 800 is black, and smaller and slightly more cramped than the Medion, with the QWERTY, navigation and numerical keypads butting up to each other (as in a large laptop). Edit: It's now the end of March (bought this on the 10th Dec 11) and I've been using it heavily since then every day on the net, on forums, gaming, pretty much everything.

Secured connection, reliable performance control and convenience are at your fingertips with this compact keyboard and reliable mouse. It has a reasonable wireless range and is very responsive, the mouse works perfectly on the arm of your chair or your thigh when you're wearing jeans. My headphones pick up the faintest sound when using the mouse scroll wheel sometimes (if I'm not listening to anything but have them on) but that is really stretching to find as a downside, I just found it mildly interesting. Windows-based computer: Requires a PC that meets the requirements for and has installed one of these operating systems: Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP.

For my purposes their low profile makes them harder to hit by mistake and forces you to actually look at the button you want to press. In terms of power, it features a low-battery light indicator and utilizes a power management system to extend the life of the batteries. Unfortunately, as I bought this as an external set to a laptop for streaming content to my TV, there is no map to the FN key (Scroll Lock + F8 doesn't work, as the laptop isn't PS/2 supported), so not all the laptop keys and functions can be replicated on the MS set.

I've been longing for a keyboard with this precise motion and resistance and this is the one for me. Also the mouse is on all the time unless I take the batteries out (and risk breaking the access cover), so it goes though rechargeable cells like no-one's business; the keyboard is more economical, thankfully. One feature did finally stand out for the MS set (which I'll come to later) which separated the two, and that tipped the balance. Hello, I wanted to know, I have lost the microtransmitter of the Microsoft 800 keyboard, how can I use it?The mouse just goes mad after I have been using it for about 5 minutes and the keyboard is fine if you are only typing a little but beyond that it starts to miss out letters. I have replaced them with a Logitech MK270, from PC World, which cost a little more but the mouse has been much smoother and does not go mad, the keyboard allows me to type as fast as I ever did with a wired keyboard.
